Commons Action for the United Nations
A healthy world is one where the commons is fully respected by all of the world’s institutions for the pivotal role that it plays in human well-being and survival. The existing neo-liberal model of globalization is inordinately biased toward privatization, individualism, and the conversion of nature into man-made capital. A sustainable 21st century requires shifting investments and labour into localized commons-based economies, where humans operate as integral parts of natural systems and do not dominate those systems. All things are connected and geo-engineering on a remote African island today will affect the welfare of Siberian Indigenous Peoples 60 generations from now.
